The Woman on the Tram is a play set in the days leading up to the assassination of Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, in a Bogotá rife with inequality, fear, and political violence. The story follows Fabio Garzón, Gaitán's young secretary, and Agustina, a woman subjected to the abuse and oppression of the elites, as they dream of escaping together and building a life far from the city and the looming war.

The appearance of a mysterious, spectral woman, known as the woman on the tram, introduces a poetic and tragic dimension: a voice from the future announcing the repetition of violence and the impossibility of changing fate. While Fabio tries to warn of the impending crime, the authorities prevail through persecution, torture, and death.

Between love, memory, and tragedy, The Woman on the Tram poses a reflection on the cycles of violence in Colombia, the dreams that were cut short, and the history that insists on repeating itself, inviting the viewer to ask themselves if it is possible to break that destiny or if we continue waiting, again and again, for the next tram.
